NAPERVILLE, IL, Sept. 14, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Nalco Company announced a price increase for water treatment and process chemicals sold to Industrial and Institutional Services Division customers, effective Oct. 1, or as contracts allow.
In recent years, a broad range of industries has felt the impact of rising costs related to raw materials, energy and transportation. Nalco's Industrial and Institutional Services Division has absorbed these cost increases while boosting its investment in developing innovative technologies, such as its 3D TRASAR® system for stress management in cooling systems, that help customers reduce their total cost of operations.
Cost increases in energy and specialty chemical raw materials, particularly those materials linked to crude oil and natural gas liquids where prices are at historic high levels, have been very significant. It is now necessary to take this pricing action. These adjustments will include a 6 to 9 percent increase for many product categories, but will be higher for a number of applications.
Nalco is the leading provider of integrated water treatment and process improvement services, chemicals and equipment programs for industrial and institutional applications. The company currently serves more than 60,000 customer locations representing a broad range of end markets. It has established a global presence with over 10,000 employees operating in 130 countries supported by a comprehensive network of manufacturing facilities, sales offices and research centers. In 2003, Nalco achieved sales of $2.8 billion.
