Conference to focus on ESRI users

June 3, 2004
Everywhere you look, geographic information system (GIS) technology is making a difference. GIS is more than software or applications, it is a world of digital data, online portals, Web services, and location services that enable access to information when and where needed. As an enabling technology GIS is making a significant difference in planning, policy, and projects that make it an indispensable tool of good governing, better business, and a healthy planet.

The ESRI 2004 International User Conference (UC), will be held August 9-13, 2004, at the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC) in San Diego, CA. Innovation, flexibility, and responsiveness are the new criteria for success in business systems, public safety programs, natural resource management, health, education, and other disciplines that impact our lives and our planet.

Whether you are a new or experienced GIS user, you'll find a supportive community of peers who offer a wealth of expertise and information that will directly benefit your work.

Who should attend

The ESRI User Conference is exclusive to users of ESRI® software. It is the single, largest gathering of those who use or support GIS tools in their organizations. It is highly recommended for:

-- Technical staff who support GIS implementation

-- Analysts who use or benefit from GIS analysis; Managers who run GIS departments

-- Decision makers who support GIS in their organization

-- Any user of ESRI software

What the conference provides:

-- Updates by senior ESRI product managers on new features and products in ArcGIS® 9

-- One-on-one consultations with software experts who can answer your questions

-- More than 300 technical workshops on ESRI software

-- More than 1,000 user paper presentations on challenges and successes

-- Complete Exhibit Hall with access to 1,000 ESRI business partners

-- User GIS achievement awards

More than 100 user groups will meet. These groups are support networks for GIS users in the same geographic region or who work in similar fields of interest. The purpose of the user groups is to support each other by sharing information, ideas, and experiences.

Registration

Your organization may have no registration cost in sending staff to the conference if you have current and fully paid software maintenance. Check with the conference registration team to determine how many complimentary seats are available to your organization. Paid registrations can be made for the entire week or on a daily basis, as your needs require.

The sessions, workshops, and product briefings alone are valued at more than $5,000. When integrated with user group meetings and a complete Exhibit Pavilion within the conference, the value is exponential for any person or team working to further its GIS goals.
