REDLANDS, CA, Dec. 9, 2004 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is accepting proposals from private nonprofit organizations that have the proven ability, background, experience, legal authority, and actual capacity to provide technical assistance and/or training on a regional basis to associations eligible for Rural Utilities Service water and wastewater assistance.

The deadline to apply is Dec. 31.

GIS can be very beneficial to the focus areas of this grant including the identification and evaluation of solutions to water and waste disposal problems in rural areas and the improvement of the operation and maintenance of existing water and waste disposal facilities in rural areas.
