STERLING, VA, Dec. 14, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sutron Corp., a service provider for remote hydro-met monitoring, announces receipt of three new contracts totaling $432,773.

The state of Colorado placed a $214,773 order for system equipment to be used for remote real-time hydrological monitoring. The contract includes the following proprietary Sutron equipment: SatLink2 GOES Satellite Transmitter/Loggers, SatLink2 Displays, Satellite Test Set Receivers, SDI-12 400-count Shaft Encoders, YAGI Antennas, Accubar Pressure Gauge and the Sutron AccuBubbler Water Level Sensor.

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) awarded to Sutron Corporation a $68,000 contract to review SCADA design, to recommend changes, and resolve serious, time-critical performance problems in its existing SCADA system. The SFWMD manages regional water resources to balance and improve water quality, flood control, natural systems and water supply. To this goal, the SFWMD is dependent on its existing comprehensive SCADA network currently suffering from degraded performance due to rapid expansion and changes.

A second contract was received from the South Florida Water Management District, SCADA and Instrumentation Management Division (SIM) which operates and maintains over 600 solar powered Remote Terminal Units (RTUs). The $150,000 contract for Monitoring Equipment Installation, Testing, Calibration and Documentation tasks Sutron to expeditiously procure long-lead-time equipment and convert 25 existing SCADA RTUs, in extremely inaccessible parts of the region, including the Everglades.
