Severn Trent Services expands operations of Texas MUDs

Severn Trent Services announced that it has been awarded two new operations contracts for Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs) in the state of Texas.


Fort Washington, Pa., Feb. 17, 2004 -- Severn Trent Services announced that it has been awarded two new operations contracts for Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs) in the state of Texas.

The contracts are with the Fry Road MUD and the Fort Bend County MUD #35, both located near the City of Katy, Texas, a western suburb of Houston. In these communities, Severn Trent will provide full operations and maintenance services, including meter reading, billing, customer service, and the operations, maintenance and repair of water and wastewater facilities.

A strong commercial home to large retailers, the Fry Road MUD includes a 0.500-MGD water system and 0.533-MGD wastewater system that serves 600 residences. The Fort Bend County MUD # 35 is a new development located in a high growth area for new home starts construction.

MUD #35 will have one water plant and in excess of over 350 residential connections as well as commercial connections upon building completion.
