DUISBURG, Germany, April 13, 2005 -- After the Russian deputy prime minister (see: "Krohne is standard for oil & gas condensate measurement in Russia"), Romanian minister for Economy and Commerce, Ioan Codrut Seres, also visited Krohne's stand at Interkama, an exhibition of automation equipment for process industries held in Hanover, Germany, April 12-15. The guest was impressed by the capabilities of Krohne in oil and gas.
Romania, which has its own oil reserves, intends to exploit those in future to a much larger extent than in the past. As the country expects an energy surplus, oil will be exported to foreign countries, especially to the European Union. Seres made it clear that Romania would like to take advantage of the know-how Krohne has in oil and gas. This includes first and foremost its expertise in custody transfer measurement.
The minister showed keen interest in the features of the metering skid for Gazprom on show at Interkama. Stephan Neuburger, managing director of the Krohne Group, presented the high-ranking guest the spectrum of systems in oil and gas management provided by Krohne Oil & Gas.
On the one hand, there is fiscal measurement for cross-border traffic, on the other hand, efficient management of tank farms in securing supply. Last but not least, the Krohne portfolio includes systems for leak detection and localization which is becoming more and more important considering the growing environmental awareness in all Eastern European countries.
