Aeromix has introduced the Twister low speed surface aerator to its line of aeration and mixing equipment. The company now offers seven major aeration devices for wastewater treatment and five aeration devices for water treatment. The Twister can be configured to be either floating or fixed mounted, can range from 3 to 150 hp, and can be either 50 or 60 hertz. It uses a partially submerged rotating turbine to stir the basin while creating intense air-to-water mixing, resulting in a high oxygen transfer. To help reduce maintenance, the fiberglass-reinforced polyester (FRP) rotor is specially shaped to shed debris and prevent ice build-up, and all shafts, couplings, gearboxes and support apparatus are oversized. Effective applications include wastewater treatment, leachate treatment, supplemental aeration, and sequencing batch reactors (SBRs).

Niagara WPX Series Turbine flowmeters are ideal for measurement of hot and cold water in line sizes from 2 in. to 10 in. and up to 4400 gpm. The rotor is the only moving part in the flow stream and magnetically coupled to a hermetically sealed indicator/ totalizer. The indicator/ totalizer is dust and waterproof and designed to prevent condensation or fogging due to variations in temperature. The magnetic coupling eliminates packing leaks. The case is constructed of cast iron and protected with an epoxy coating.
Vacuum actuated pumps

Disposing of compressed air system condensate is an environmental concern. The oil/water mixture is classified as a hazardous waste and cannot be discharged directly into sanitary drains, unless the oil is first separated from the water. Kaeser's new Aquamat condensate management system, with its four-stage separation system, automatically separates oil from condensate. Models are available in a range of sizes and feature an integrated manifold system that allows several condensate lines to be attached to one unit.

Membrana-Charlotte's new Industrial 10 x 28 Liqui-Cel® Membrane Contactor is now available for gas transfer applications where FDA compliance and ultra-low extractables are not required. Considerable R&D resources were focused on designing a contactor that would specifically meet the needs of lower-purity end markets. The contactor uses different materials of construction and has different performance characteristics compared to the high-purity 10 x 28 Liqui-Cel Membrane Contactor. The new Industrial contactor will process up to 175 gpm in one device.
Electromagnetic flow meters
The Badger Meter Magnetoflow® electromagnetic flow meter uses an advanced design which delivers up to 0.25% accuracy. A large variety of pipe size configurations are available from 1/4 in. to 54 in. (DN6-DN1400). Connections range from flanged to wafer to 3A approved sanitary fittings. Applications can be found in various water and wastewater environments.
A cast iron submersible pump designed for handling both groundwater and wastewater has been introduced by ITT Flygt Corp. Designated as model 3068, the pump can deliver up to 260 gpm, and the maximum head is 100 ft. The pumps are available in three configurations: with a closed, two vane solids handling impeller for most wastewater and groundwater applications; with a vortex impeller that reduces abrasive wear and minimizes clogging caused by passing large or stringy solids; and a chopper version, with Ni hard impeller and cutter plate, capable of handling solids, fibrous materials, heavy sludge and other matter found in normal sewage applications. The pumps are available in 230 V single-phase and 208/230/460/575 V three-phase versions, and are rated at 2.3 hp and 2 hp (single phase) and 2.4 to 3.8 hp (three phase).
