Genesis Water awarded European Patent for high-speed dewatering technology

Genesis Water recently announced that the European Patent Office has granted European Patent No. 1286924 to the company's dewatering technology.

DENVER, CO, Dec. 3, 2014 -- On Monday, Dec. 1, Genesis Water, a provider of the Genesis Rapid Dewatering System™ (RDS), announced that the European Patent Office has granted European Patent No. 1286924 to the company's dewatering technology.

The patent, awarded for the "apparatus and method for high-speed dewatering of slurries," covers a particular component of Genesis Water's revolutionary RDS, according to the company's Chief Technology Officer Michael Hodges.

Specifically, Hodges noted that the newly granted patent covers the shape of the riser, which moves the slurry to the top of the AquaScreen and helps enable even distribution across the screen. This is the first European patent issued for Genesis Water's technology and comes on the heels of a U.S. Patent awarded earlier in 2014.

The company now holds patents throughout Europe, the U.S., Mexico, China, Japan, Australia, and Africa, and has patents pending in other countries, including Canada. Further, the European patent is just one of a series of pending patents covering various aspects of the RDS technology now under consideration by the European Patent Office.
