TEMPE, AZ, Nov. 6, 2009 -- Integrated Process Technologies Inc. (IPT) has recently completed testing of two new twin mobile reverse osmosis systems at their corporate headquarters located in Tempe, AZ. Each unit is housed inside 48-ft. refrigerated trailers and, depending upon feedwater quality, can produce up to 0.5 MGD of high quality permeate. A unique advantage of the design allows either mobile RO to be operated in the single pass or double pass RO configuration by making simple modifications to the concentrate flow connections.
Each trailer is equipped with its own built-in clean-in-place system, a variable frequency drive, multi-stage feedwater pump, up to three chemical injection systems and two prefiltration systems.
Pressure vessel staging is such that membrane cleaning can be done for up to one half of the entire system without taking the other half off-line. All operator controls and instrument visuals are centrally located for easy of control and convenient observation.
A single 480-volt three-phase power connection is all that is required to operate all of the on-board systems. There are three piping connections: feedwater, permeate, and reject. Recoveries as high as 80% or as low as 45% are feasible, again depending upon feedwater quality and temperature.
Working together with our recent alliance partner Toray Membrane USA, IPT will take full advantage of Toray's wide-range of membrane application knowledge and the best cleaning procedures required, based on water chemistry and type of membrane. Toray Membrane USA is a leading global manufacturer of membranes for water purification and wastewater reclamation and one of a very few companies with manufacturing and application expertise across the full spectrum of high-performance water treatment membranes.
Rapid response from local field representatives will allow the IPT/Toray team to provide assessment through either on-site and/or off-site troubleshooting to identify unexplained problems, and recommendations to avoid future problems.
These mobile RO's are available for short or long-term lease. A recent water chemical analysis is required for selection of the best Toray membrane and the correct pretreatment chemicals. Contact Frank Stephenson, P.E. at IPT: (480) 753 0220 X-7012.
