Metoc increases its presence in Scotland
Metoc plc has increased its presence in Scotland with the recent opening of new offices and the appointment of a new Business Manager.
Feb. 10, 2004 -- Metoc plc has increased its presence in Scotland with the recent opening of new offices and the appointment of a new Business Manager.
The office will support Metoc's existing client-base in Scotland, as well as providing a focus for the company's business development activity in the region, targeted at the water, oil and gas, renewable energy and coastal engineering markets.
The new office is located in The Technology Park, situated on the west side of Dundee in Tayside. The Park was designed to attract new technology and knowledge-based businesses to the area. It provides immediate access to the trunk road and rail networks, such that 90% of Scotland's population is only 90 minutes travel time away.
The office is being managed by Dr David Wotherspoon, who joins Metoc from the management and technical consultants, Ewan Associates Ltd. David's career spans consultancy, research and local authority, with particular experience in water and wastewater infrastructure, coastal modeling and asset management.
He has previously worked for Ove Arup, Dundee Institute of Technology, Tayside Regional Council, North of Scotland Water Authority, and Scottish Water. David has recently obtained an MBA from Lancaster University to add to his PhD from the University of Abertay, Dundee. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Managerment (CIWEM). David spent his formative years in Dundee and now lives near Forfar.
