Aquatech China: Day 1 recap
Water & Wastewater International's Chief Editor Tom Freyberg reports from Shanghai.
SHANGHAI, June 15, 2016 --Water & Wastewater International's Chief Editor Tom Freyberg is in Shanghai this week, attending Aquatech China. the event's ninth year is expected to attract over 60,000 visitors. In total, 2,500 exhibitors will showcase the latest in innovations for the water and wastewater sectors.
The event's opening ceremony included remarks form Lindewijde Ongering, Secretary General, Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, who spoke about similarities between the Netherlands and China when it comes to water opportunities and challenges.
At least 50 countries are showcasing in Shanghai this week.
New this year is the China Bluetech Awards, designed to praise innovations and allow international water and wastewater companies to compete in the Chinese market. A total of 30 submissions has been narrowed down to 6 finalists, who will be announced at the awards ceremony later in the event.
