AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, Nov. 1, 2011, -- Amiad Water Systems, a leading global producer of water treatment and filtration solutions, has established Amiad Water Systems Europe SAS to target growth opportunities in the European market.
Speaking at the Aquatech conference in Amsterdam, Arik Dayan, Chief Executive Officer of Amiad, commented: "The establishment of Amiad Europe reflects our commitment to developing solutions for, and providing services to, European customers. We wanted to extend to greater Europe the expertise developed by Amiad France over the last 10 years in the industrial and municipal fields. As a result of its developed nature, there is a great number of European-based water treatment and engineering companies and projects for us to target, and Amiad is able to customize and develop its applications to be well-suited for this key sophisticated market."
Due to the effects of climate change and population growth, there is an increasing demand for water, with many parts of Europe being in a near-critical situation. The problem is most acute in the south and southeast, but it is not limited to these areas. To try to manage this critical resource, the European Union and national governments are imposing a steady stream of regulation for water and wastewater treatment and distribution. Consequently, there is a growing need for water treatment and filtration solutions that enable more water to be saved and recycled, with a minimal environmental impact and which ensure regulatory requirements are satisfied.
As Bruno Jauneaud, Chief Executive Officer of Amiad Europe, identifies: "Europe is one of the most advanced and sophisticated markets globally for water treatment and filtration. In the municipal sector, there is an increasing demand for innovative, chemical-free, low energy, compact treatment systems that offer very fine macro and micro filtration. Amiad has the technology to achieve this, such as our Arkal Spin Klin® Apollo Quadro filter that we are currently showing at the Aquatech conference and exhibition in Amsterdam."
The Apollo Quadro is an automatic all-polymeric, self-cleaning Arkal Spin Klin® disc filter, designed as a highly efficient solution for high flow rate applications for all types of water, including seawater. Its unique, modular design gives it a substantially reduced footprint while allowing for future system expansion. It is designed for tertiary (wastewater treatment) applications, potable water treatment, membrane protection, and industrial and irrigation purposes.
Amiad Europe was established earlier this year, following the acquisition by Amiad of the remaining 34% issued share capital of Amiad France SARL, to consolidate all of the Company's central and western European activity. Located in France, the wholly-owned subsidiary continues to be managed by Bruno Jauneaud, former CEO of Amiad France.
