CARDIFF, Wales, UK, April 2, 2010 -- The inaugural Tyco Waterworks UK Charity Ball in aid of WaterAid raised over £15,000 for the charity WaterAid, an organisation whose invaluable work enables the poorest people worldwide to gain access to clean, safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation.
Tyco Waterworks UK has just announced its inaugural Charity Ball raised an astonishing £15,000 for the international charity, WaterAid. Held at the prestigious Barcelό Angel Hotel in Cardiff on March 19th, the event saw the 140 attendees enjoy an evening packed with entertainment, good food and excellent company.
The evening kicked off with a champagne drinks reception sponsored by Tyco Waterworks followed by a superb three-course dinner. Live entertainment was provided by the band, The Truth, with the multi-talented keyboard player, Wayne Boyland, also acting as Master of Ceremonies and Auctioneer. The Live Auction and Silent Auction were extremely well supported and raised thousands of pounds for WaterAid as people bid for prizes, amongst them, a private box at Ascot Races, a driving session in the South Wales Police driving school simulator, 32" flat screen TV, Nintendo Wii, signed memorabilia from the Wales Rugby team and from the Cardiff Devils Ice Hockey team.
As a memento of the evening, guests were able to have their photographs taken by Simon Regan Photography who gave his time free of charge to support the charity, or they could get Chrissy Marshall from Sensible Pencil to draw a caricature!
"The evening was a tremendous success." says Damian Mackey, Director at Tyco. "We've received fantastic feedback, with everyone enjoying a fun-packed evening. We'd like to extend our sincere thanks to all the individuals and companies that supported us with donations, sponsorship, prizes and their services as well as our guests, their friends and family who joined us last Friday."
