WASHINGTON, US – The topic of desalination is set to feature in a high level debate - The White House Water Summit – as part of World Water Day taking place tomorrow.

The International Desalination Association (IDA) has been invited to participate in the event, which it said “reflects our commitment to promoting sustainable water practices”.

The summit will feature panel discussions and invited speakers from the public and private sectors.

In conjunction with the United Nations World Water Day, the White House Water Summit has been put together to “raise awareness of water issues and potential solutions in the United States, and to catalyze ideas and actions to help build a sustainable and secure water future through innovative science and technology”.

Starting at 9:00am EDT, the event will be livestreamed on www.whitehouse.gov/live, and audience members can participate using the hashtag #WHWaterSummit.
