Glendale, Calif., site of SolarBee's 1,000th unit installation
SolarBee Inc., a division of Pump Systems Inc. (PSI), installed the 1,000th SolarBee high-flow long-distance circulator in Glendale, CA. DICKINSON, ND, Dec. 19, 2006 -- SolarBee Inc., a division of Pump Systems Inc. (PSI) is very proud to announce the installation of the 1,000th SolarBee high-flow long-distance circulator this month.
The 1,000th unit was installed at the city of Glendale, CA, where SolarBee installed 38 units in the last month and five additional units in April of 2006. The unit was installed in a potable water tank.
Over the past eight years, the SolarBee solar powered circulator has proven effective in improving treatment with 400 units installed in 200 freshwater lakes and reservoirs (about half are in raw water storage reservoirs), with nearly 200 units installed in potable tanks and reservoirs and, with about 400 units installed in 150 wastewater treatment systems.
The innovative product for this application makes it possible to retrofit an existing tank without taking it out of service and provides mixing energy that provides high-flow long-distance mixing while operating on solar.
The system has achieved critical mass and is recognized as a leading solution in the following applications:

A 28-year-old company, Pump Systems Inc. (www.pumpsystems.com), developed, manufactured and installed its first solar powered circulators in 1998 and, beginning in September, 2001, named its technology the "SolarBee" brand. By 2005, PSI had manufactured and installed almost 800 machines nationwide and analyzed thousands of water samples. The company is based in Dickinson, ND.
