DENVER, CO, May 13, 2010 -- ARCADIS, the international design, consulting, engineering and management services company, has hired Lawrence H. Roth, P.E., G.E., D.GE, as Senior Vice President in the Client Development Group to bolster the company's water resources practice, with an emphasis in Northern California.
In his role as Senior Vice President, Roth is responsible for expanding ARCADIS' water resources management services to public, private and government entities. Roth also will leverage nearly three decades of industry experience and statewide relationships to enhance ARCADIS' existing capabilities.
"Larry's practical expertise as a consulting and principal engineer in California, coupled with his extensive management capabilities in levees, dams, and conveyance facilities at a local, national and international level, will be invaluable to the success and growth of our business," said Dennis Kamber, Senior Vice President, Global Water Management for ARCADIS U.S.
Prior to joining ARCADIS, Roth was the executive vice president of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), leading all of the Society's technical activities and managing the Industry Leadership Council. While with ASCE, Roth was privileged to serve as project manager and chief-of-staff for the Hurricane Katrina External Review Panel to oversee the Interagency Performance Evaluation Task Force's (IPET) evaluation of the causes and consequences of the flooding in the City of New Orleans and to provide recommendations to increase defenses prior to the next hurricane season. Roth served as the deputy executive director at ASCE for nearly a decade.
In addition to his leadership at ASCE, Roth has played a significant role with a variety of geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering firms in the western states, focusing primarily on water resources projects like dams, canals and levees, and on landfill and waste contaminant design.
