NEW ORLEANS, LA – German company MICRODYN-NADIR has acquired US specialty membrane company TriSep Corporation.
The California-based company specialises in reverse osmosis and nanofiltration membranes.
One of the aims behind the acquisition will be to offer downstream purification of effluent with reverse osmosis, according to MICRODYN-NADIR.
The combined companies will be able to offer four filtration technologies moving forward, including microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis.
In June wastewater treatment company Huber announced it had combined membrane laminate technology from Microdyn-Nadir into its VRM rotating membrane system (read WWi story).
Walter Lamparter, CEO of MICRODYN-NADIR, said: “This is a strategic purchase to increase MICRODYN-NADIR’s capability to service the water treatment market and process separations, not only across North America, but around the world.
“Pooling our expertise with the strengths of TriSep will be easy, because we have been working well with each other for almost 20 years. It’s a tried, tested and true partnership that will enable us to accelerate our growth in the water filtration business.”
TriSep will continue operating under the leadership of Peter Knappe, TriSep’s president, as managing director of TriSep, reporting to Lamparter.
