Sterling, VA, August 9, 2001 — Sutron Corporation, a provider of real-time environmental remote monitoring and control, is pleased to announce that July 2001 sales exceeded $905,700, triple those of July 2000.
On July 6, 2001, the National Environmental Satellite Data Information Service, NESDIS, certified Sutron's SatLink HDR DCP for Random Reporting and Self-Timed Modes for 100, 300, and 1200 BPS. NESDIS is the branch of the federal government that assigns addresses, channels, and transmit times for satellites and transmitters.
During July the first SatLink HDR was delivered to the National Ocean Service, a division of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for demonstration purposes, as part of an anticipated multi-year, multi-million dollar opportunity. SatLink is also an important new tool for other government agencies such as the US Geological Survey, Army Corps of Engineers, and the National Weather Service where it will be used to anticipate, forecast, and alleviate the devastating effects of events such as floods, mudslides, fires, etc. For 26 years Sutron has designed and manufactured communications equipment that operates unattended for months at a time in remote, inhospitable places, under the most extreme environmental conditions on the planet.
Founded in 1975, Sutron's technical expertise in meteorology, water management, and hydrology places the company in the vanguard of environmental monitoring and control companies, a position secured by its unequalled ability to fuse cutting edge technological innovation with 26 years of existing systems experience and knowledge. With 25,000 environmental monitoring stations presently in operation globally, Sutron is a major worldwide supplier of real-time data collection systems that include telemetry, sensors and data management software.
