Tetra Tech awarded three state watershed management contracts totaling $16 million

Tetra Tech Inc. today announced that it was awarded $16 million in new contracts to develop and implement water quality and watershed management programs for the states of Mississippi, Alaska and Alabama.

PASADENA, Calif., Aug. 28, 2001 — Tetra Tech Inc. today announced that it was awarded $16 million in new contracts to develop and implement water quality and watershed management programs for the states of Mississippi, Alaska and Alabama.

This work implements the Total Maximum Daily Load Program, an effort under the Clean Water Act to ensure that water bodies receiving pollutants from point and non-point sources will attain and maintain water quality standards.

Li-San Hwang, Tetra Tech's CEO, commented, "These contracts are important because they provide technical guidance directly to state environmental leaders, helping us to expand our leadership position and customer relationships in watershed management. We now have watershed management contracts directly with state agencies in 13 states, and have worked for 19 additional states through other EPA contracts."

Mississippi Dept. of Environmental Quality

These two new five-year contracts, valued at a sum up to $10 million in the aggregate, will provide engineering modeling, risk-benefit analyses, environmental permitting, and other technical support to Mississippi's environmental programs.

Alaska Dept. of Environmental Management

This new three-year contract, valued at up to $3 million, will provide technical assistance to Alaska's Water Quality Management program.

Alabama Dept. of Environmental Management

This new three-year contract, valued at up to $3 million, will provide technical support related to development of Total Maximum Daily Loads for watersheds in Alabama.
