Partnership aims to bring advanced water solutions to Mexico
A partnership between Desalitech and Veolia will bring advanced, cost-effective, high-recovery water solutions to Mexico and additional countries worldwide.
MEXICO CITY, MEXICO, March 22, 2014 -- A new partnership plans to be negotiated between Desalitech, a provider of high-efficiency water production and wastewater treatment solutions, and Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, a provider of industrial and municipal water treatment technologies, to bring advanced, cost-effective, high-recovery water solutions to Mexico and additional countries worldwide.
Desalitech has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Veolia in Mexico City, Mexico, as part of Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick's Massachusetts – Mexico Partnership Mission. The two companies have been collaborating in Mexico and the U.S. and are moving forward with their cooperation. The partnership comes at an opportune time, as industry is currently responsible for 60 percent of freshwater withdrawals in developed countries, and this number is growing.
Desalitech offers high-recovery, low-energy water treatment solutions for a number of applications including projects in agriculture and the industrial sector. Further, the company's products include Closed Circuit Desalination Reverse Osmosis (CCD-RO) systems that are able to reduce waste generation by up to 70 percent and energy consumption by 35 percent.
