ATLANTA, June 28, 2006 -- Can a large, international consulting company still have a small- company feel? Ground engineering and environmental services firm Golder Associates Inc. (GAI) might make a believer out of you. Even though GAI reached 1,000 employees this month and is on the way to achieving well over $100 million in net revenue for the year, President Steve Thompson still begins his quarterly reports emphasizing diligent attention to working safely and maintaining a healthy working environment. And despite the fact that GAI grew its workforce 15% over the past year, he still highlights personal relationships and networking as keys to success in recruiting quality professionals.

"Although we will continue to grow in the future, our vision statement of being the most respected firm of our kind hasn't changed. That means having the same kind of communicative, responsive relationships with our employees as we have with our clients," says Thompson. "We also encourage employees to keep in close touch with company goals so that they can identify their own ways to lend a shoulder to the wheel and help us meet our goals together."

Golder's expansion in the U.S. has been largely twofold: growing smaller offices to a minimum of 25 people and adding senior technical experts throughout its 41 offices, including new offices in Columbus, OH, Duluth, MN, Billings, MT, Kamuela, HI, Seattle, WA, and Silver City, NM. Golder's strategic hires have led to increased services for clients in natural resources, manufacturing, and waste management who need consultants for: permitting, environmental planning, landfill-gas-to-energy services, compliance with Clean Water Act regulations, water treatment, and last, a wide range of contracting services, which Golder offers through its new subsidiary Golder Construction Services.

Golder Associates Inc. (www.golder.com) is the U.S. operating company of Golder Associates, a global group of consulting companies specializing in ground engineering and environmental services. Golder Associates is employee-owned and has experienced steady growth since its formation in 1960. Over 4,700 people operate in local companies in offices across Africa, Australia, Europe, North America and South America. Golder has been recognized by independent media organizations as a quality place to work by winning "Best Employer to Work For" awards in Australia, Canada, South Africa and the U.S, and consistently ranks high in Engineering News Record and other trade publications.
