RICHFIELD, MN, Feb. 16, 2006 -- Dr. Wu Chen, education committee chairman for the American Filtration & Separations Society, announced the addition of a full-day advanced course "Wastewater/Water Treatment and Filtration" to its successful Filtration Basics Short Course (FBSC) program.

The full day course will be taught by industry leaders:
• Steve Constable -- DuPont Environmental Engineering Section,
• Dr. Ernie Mayer -- DuPont Delaware, and
• Vince Hamilton -- Westech Inc.

Topics in this full day course include: Classification and Selection Schemes, Setting Systems, Biological Treatment Processes and Sludge Management, Heavy Metals Removal Technologies, Wastewater Dewatering Equipment and Testing and Water Filtration Equipment and Treatment.

Wastewater/Water Treatment & Filtration and the rest of the AFS FBSC program will be offered in conjunction with the AFS Spring 2006 Conference on Monday May 9 at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. CEU's will be awarded upon completion of the course.

In addition, AFS is the principal educator for industry suppliers, manufacturers and end-users. It's headquarters are in Richfield, MN.
