WHITE PLAINS, NY, Feb. 13, 2006 -- Doug Owen, managing director of Malcolm Pirnie's Municipal Water Environment business unit will be a panelist on an American Water Works Association (AWWA) webcast to further assist public water systems in complying with the complex requirements of the Stage 2 DBPR. The Feb. 15 webcast focuses on the "who, what and when" issues of the Stage 2 DBPR.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator signed the final Stage 2 Disinfection By-Products Rule (Stage 2 DBPR) and the final Long-Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule (LT2ESWTR). For many public water systems, these two rules will require action soon after their release in order to meet rule deadlines in 2006.

Joined in the webcast by AWWA's Alan Roberson and Charlotte Smith, Owen will present an up-to-date and targeted distillation of the Final Stage 2 Disinfectant and Disinfection By-Products Rule, providing the key information public water systems need to know to meet the rule's aggressive implementation strategy.
