CHARLOTTE, NC, Aug. 5, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- WK Dickson has added Brian L. Tripp, PE, to its staff as the firm's newest water resources project manager.

Tripp will be located in the firm's Charlotte, NC, office. He has over seven years of professional experience related to civil and environmental engineering. During his career, he has been involved in multiple water distribution system and water treatment plant designs as well as wastewater collection and treatment plant designs. He has overseen all aspects of environmental projects from project assessment and development, funding, design, permitting, startup and operation and maintenance. Throughout his career, he has served as engineer and consultant to local governments across North and South Carolina.

As a licensed professional engineer, Tripp has worked in the private civil and environmental engineering consulting field as well as for the state of South Carolina. He has managed a wide variety of water resources projects including water and wastewater plant vulnerability assessments, risk management plans (RMPs), sewer collection system rehabilitation, and wastewater pre-treatment programs.

While employed with South Carolina's Department of Health and Environmental Control, Tripp served as district engineer for the Edisto/Lower Savannah District which included Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun, and Orangeburg counties - and was responsible for construction inspections and final inspections for public drinking water and wastewater systems to ensure they were properly constructed and maintained.

He received a bachelor's degree in biosystems engineering from Clemson University and later went on to earn a master's degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of South Carolina. He's active in the American Waterworks Association and the Water Environment Federation.
