CHARLOTTE, NC, April 18, 2005 -- Application portals providing information on O2 removal from water and CO2 removal from water have been added to the www.liqui-cel.com website.

These new application portals have been added to the liqui-cel website to highlight how Liqui-Cel contactors are used in various applications. O2 removal from water and CO2 removal from water are core functions of the contactors. The portals highlight some of the reasons why many industries remove CO2 and O2 from liquids and how membrane contactors provide an ideal solution for those applications.

For example, it is known that O2 negatively impacts many processes; it is corrosive and can oxidize materials. In the power and industrial areas, piping and equipment are susceptible to corrosion. Specifically to the semiconductor market, high levels of O2 can cause lower wafer yields. Additionally, CO2 negatively impacts performance of EDI and Ion Exchange. The Liqui-Cel Contactors offer a modular solution for O2/CO2 removal from liquids before these processes without chemicals.

Membrana plans to add additional application portals to the website in the future to further increase the knowledge base for other applications.

The updated site provides all of the technical and educational materials needed for understanding and using Liqui-Cel Membrane Contactors. The new application portals put reference materials and application specific information into one easily accessible area on the website. The website also offers an animated on-line product tour that walks a person through the mechanics of Liqui-Cel technology and provides an overview of the available products.

Liqui-Cel Membrane Contactors are used around the world for adding or removing oxygen (O2), carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen (N2) to or from different liquids in the Semiconductor, Power, Pharmaceutical, Photographic, Ink Jet, Food and Beverage, and many other industries.

Membrana's Industrial Membrane Group also manufactures a variety of membranes used for filtration in various industries and applications. Manufacturing facilities are located in the USA and Europe. Global markets are served through sales offices and affiliates in North America, Europe, Japan, South East Asia and China.
