Atlanta to host next AMTA Technology Transfer Workshop in May

ATLANTA, GA, March 2, 2006 -- The American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) is please to announce its Technology Transfer Workshop in Atlanta scheduled for May 10-11. This workshop will focus on "Membranes - Revolutionizing Water/Wastewater Treatment." Attendees will learn about membrane facilities with a specific focus on Gwinnett County's F. Wayne Hill Water Resource Center, which features UF technology and was recently expanded from 20 mgd to 60 mgd. There's a guided tour of this facility scheduled for workshop attendees.
The workshop will present MF/UF/NF/RO/MBR Basics, Membrane Facilities Operation/Maintenance/Upgrades with focus on several case histories highlighting the Hilton Head RO Plant, Call's Creek Facility, and Application of Membrane Technology in Coastal Development. The feasibility of Membrane Concentrate Disposal will also be presented along with Residuals Management for Membrane Treatment Plants and an Overview of NPDES Permitting Requirements and Issues.
It's a must attend event for water utilities and municipalities concerned with providing a safe, reliable and cost-effective water supply for their communities; agencies, water treatment operators, supervisors, superintendents, managers, planners, and engineers, as well as consultants and manufacturers interested in the latest membrane treatment advances and applications; university professors and students interested in on-going research and development of membrane technologies.
