CALGARY, AB, Canada, Sept. 26, 2006 -- Dave Jardine, president and chairman of Telvent in North America, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim T. Bowen to the position of director of Geomatics Services. In addition to being responsible for developing Telvent's Geomatics business in North America, Bowen will also be a key force in implementing the growth strategy for this technology sector on a worldwide basis.

Bowen's extensive background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Information Management includes experience in the energy, forestry, mining, environment and government sectors. During the past decade his focus has been on developing successful working relationships with a number of major energy companies, primarily in the upstream and midstream segments. Prior to joining Telvent, Bowen served a six-year tenure, initially as Principal and later as CEO of a Geomatics company offering traditional GIS, Software Development, Application Hosting and Mobile GIS. Following the acquisition of that company by an international engineering firm, Bowen joined the management team of the new organization, as Co-Director of their Information Management Division. Most recently, he was CEO of a specialized Management Consulting and Technology company. In addition to an M.Sc. in GIS and Resource Conservation, Bowen is also a Certified GIS Professional (GISP) and Project Management Professional (PMP).

"It is indeed a pleasure to welcome Bowen to our Telvent team," said Mr. Jardine. "We are truly fortunate to have a person with his extensive expertise in the field of Geomatics. The potential of GIS is something that Telvent clearly recognizes, as demonstrated by Telvent Miner and Miner's ongoing success in the utilities market. At the same time, however, there currently exists a huge supply and demand gap for Geomatics in the oil and gas sectors. We believe that the market is ready for a dominant player to emerge, and Telvent intends to be that player."

Telvent (www.telvent.com), a global real-time information technology company, specializes in high value add solutions and services in four industry sectors (Energy, Traffic, Transport and Environment). Its technology allows high performing companies to make real-time business decisions using data acquisition, control, and advanced operational applications, providing secure actionable information delivery to the enterprise.
