SolarBrook installation back on line following completion of site upgrades
APEX, NC, Dec. 17, 2007 -- SolarBrook Water & Power Corporation announced today that its HydroFlo PLUS™ system located at a water treatment facility in Santa Cruz has recently been placed back on line following the city's completion of a major upgrade to their municipal site, incorporating additional soundproofing and other system-wide improvements. Though not related to the PLUS™ system, these modifications further improve the "good-neighbor" integration of this facility within an upscale neighborhood of this community.
The performance of this PLUS™ system has been among the best in the company's portfolio, reducing operating costs by as much as $20,000 per month while minimizing odors and protecting the infrastructure from corrosive chemicals. Currently SolarBrook's HydroFlo Water Treatment subsidiary has multiple PLUS™ installations in progress or recently completed. These include several installations in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
The HYDROFLO Pressure Line Upstream System (PLUS™) takes an innovative approach to the problems of odor and corrosion control in wastewater conveyance systems. The PLUS™ process is a patented, proactive technology that changes the pumping station force main to an aerobic environment without harming the station pumps and without chemicals. This, in turn, eliminates the anaerobic conditions in the force main and the formation of hydrogen sulfide upstream at the source of the problem. The process can also be used to control odors at the pump station's wet well.
The benefits associated with utilizing the HYDROFLO PLUS™ process include:
-- Elimination of odor and corrosion conditions caused by Sulfur Reducing
Bacteria
-- No on-site storage of hazardous materials with associated handling and
SPCC concerns
-- Consistent and reliable results
-- Configurations for both Municipal and Industrial applications
-- Low life-cycle costs with attractive return-on-investment
With the new strategic plan being adopted by SolarBrook, the HydroFlo PLUS™ system, as well as other SolarBrook products, are being redesigned with options to integrate clean power for remote off-grid applications, thus further expanding the potential market for this technology.
Formerly known as HydroFlo Inc., SolarBrook Water & Power Corporation is headquartered in Apex, North Carolina, and maintains a core focus to seek out synergistic acquisitions that will provide capital appreciation and income for its portfolio companies.
