GE Infrastructure Water & Process Technologies to raise prices
TREVOSE, PA, Sept. 20, 2004 -- As a result of increasing cost pressures in a global economy, GE Infrastructure Water & Process Technologies recently notified its customers of new pricing structures for all of its products and services, effective immediately. The price structures reflected many of GE's recent service-driven technologies, with enhanced products and services as key drivers in the decision.
"Marketplace conditions for water treatment solutions over the last year have created an environment where it is just more expensive to do business today than it was two years ago," said Colin Sabol, General Manager, Global Marketing for the Water & Process Technologies business at GE. "We expect that any price increase is offset by the additional value that customers obtain from new, productivity-enhancing products and services."
In the last year, GE has introduced new products such as Mobile Water, InSight and dozens of leading edge water and process treatment chemistries and equipment designed to enhance total water system performance. Customers are opting to buy many of these products with service agreements that utilize GE's experience to manage a facility's water and process needs.
"While many companies are holding costs by eliminating people, services and products, GE continues to invest heavily in this business," added Sabol. "GE has added people to our field organization and invested in new products and services. For example, GE will introduce more than 80 new products in 2004 and the outlook for 2005 is extremely exciting."
