LINDON, UT, Oct. 26, 2004 (PRNewswire-FirstCall) -- Electric Aquagenics Unlimited Inc. (EAU), a technology and life sciences company specializing in water electrolysis, reported significant revenue increases in its poultry processing market channel. The company is also seeing strong revenues in its carpet and living surface care market channel. Third quarter revenues are more than double second quarter poultry revenues.
EAU manufactures generators that leverage cell technology employing sodium and electricity to alter the molecular structure of water. The generators produce a series of fluids and solutions, marketed as Empowered WaterTM, with multiple industrial and consumer applications. EAU has an exclusive distribution agreement with Covenant Water Systems (CWS) for the marketing of EAU products to the poultry industry. The company recently delivered generators to Amick Farms, Batesburg, S.C., and Murray's Chicken, South Fallsburg, N.Y., two leading poultry processing facilities.
"As the poultry industry moves away from using antibiotics and other chemicals, processors will benefit from adding EAU's Empowered Water treatment technologies to their facilities," said Dr. Scott Russell, PhD. University of Georgia, Poultry Science Department. "Our 18-month focused study proved EAU's non-toxic, antimicrobial fluids more effectively eliminate E. coli and salmonella than alternatives currently used in poultry processing. The evidence should encourage an industry wide shift."
Amick Farms, a family owned and operated, fully integrated production and processing facility, is beta testing Empowered Water for inline spraying. To date the only approved inline process is Alcide. Amick hopes to replace the approved process that it currently is using. Amick produces more than four million pounds of fresh poultry each week, specializing in processing larger birds.
Murray's Chicken is using EAU generators in a new stage in its processing line. Under the direction and guidance of Dr. Russell, the system was used in a 10- minute post chiller rinse achieving a 3.87 log reduction in salmonella and E. coli.
"We are progressively introducing EO technology and Empowered Water to the poultry processing industry through our joint-venture agreement with R Square," said Gaylord Karren, CEO of Electric Aquagenics Unlimited. "Our revenue increase demonstrates that the poultry processing industry is beginning to fully appreciate the potential impact of our technology, which is environmentally sound, cost-effective and highly efficacious."
