Indiana county selects Woolpert for mapping project
DAYTON, OH, Oct. 15, 2004 -- The Harrison County, Ind., Commissioners recently selected Woolpert LLP to provide a digital terrain model (DTM) to support a storm water study as well as the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) map modernization project.
Woolpert will be providing a DTM with four-foot contours (countywide) and two-foot contours (developed areas only) developed from light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data obtained by the firm in 2003. The highly accurate DTM and resulting contours will provide three-dimensional information to benefit the storm water study and map modernization projects. The data will also be of benefit to Harrison County's geographic information system (GIS) program and other engineering projects.
Woolpert has significant experience producing DTMs that match FEMA's specifications. The firm has provided DTMs for FEMA's use in projects throughout the United States.
