• Pioneers of Hydro-Optic Disinfection™ (HOD) establish Shanghai office.
HAR TUV, Israel, & SHANGHAI, China, Oct. 19, 2006 -- Atlantium yesterday announced the opening of its Shanghai office. George Gu, formerly with Ecolab Chemicals and Shanghai Suntory Beverage, will lead the office. The accessibility of Atlantium's HOD solution addresses China's growing demand for environmentally friendly technologies and advanced water disinfection systems.
"I am very excited about the challenge of establishing HOD technology as the premiere method of water disinfection in this region," says Gu. "Atlantium's unique combination of fiber-optic and hydraulic principles provides a thorough solution with a rapid ROI. This will prove to be very attractive to municipalities and industries, such as food and beverage, dairy, brewery and aquaculture."
The HOD system's revolutionary design places powerful, proprietary medium-pressure, high-intensity light sources outside the water and behind a thick quartz window. The core of the reactor is a large quartz tube that acts as both a clear water channel, which enables unimpeded water flow, and an effective light trap. Atlantium's HOD R-Series is fully customizable, with dual-controlled sensors independently monitoring lamp power and the light in the water. This provides real-time, accurate information for maximum control and ensures light intensity matches specific customer requirements.
Atlantium's CEO, Ilan Wilf, is especially eager to demonstrate the value of HOD in the Asian market. "We have successful installations across Europe, the Middle East, the United States, and Latin America," Wilf says. "Expanding into Asia is a natural step in our evolution. George Gu will prove to be an invaluable asset for us."
HOD technology has already been field-proven in several industries.
"My familiarity with industry needs in Asia leads me to conclude that the HOD technology will become the disinfection system of choice and the market leader within a relatively short period of time," Gu says. "I look forward to introducing this environmentally friendly technology in a region beginning to focus on environmental awareness.
