Met-Pro Corp. setting up manufacturing in the People's Republic of China
HARLEYSVILLE, PA, March 8, 2005 (PRNewswire-FirstCall) -- Raymond J. De Hont, chairman and CEO of Met-Pro Corp., reported that the company is in the process of establishing a manufacturing operation in Guangzhou, People's Republic of China.
The new entity, Mefiag (Guangzhou) Filter Systems Ltd., will manufacture, sell and service Mefiag filter systems, pumps and accessory equipment for use in the toughest, most corrosive applications in the Chinese plating and metal finishing markets.
A recent study completed by the Surface Finishing Market Research Board (SFMRB) forecasts that the Chinese plating and metal finishing industries' growth over the next five years will make China the largest plating and metal finishing production area in the world. Mefiag (Guangzhou) Filter Systems Ltd. is expected to be operational during the first half of Met-Pro's current fiscal year and will be managed locally by an employee from Mefiag B.V., Met-Pro's wholly-owned subsidiary located in Heerenveen, Netherlands. Sales will be accomplished through Mefiag B.V.'s long-time distributor in China, a leading chemical supplier to the plating and metal finishing markets.
"The establishment of Mefiag (Guangzhou) Filter Systems Ltd. will not only improve our ability to compete in the plating and metal finishing markets in China, but also in other countries as well," said De Hont. "Through the combination of Mefiag B.V., our Mefiag Division, located in Harleysville, Pennsylvania and Mefiag (Guangzhou) Filter Systems Ltd., we will be better positioned than ever to grow our Mefiag filter systems sales worldwide."
