ROTHSCHILD, Wis. - April 27, 2001 - The Wisconsin Council of Safety (WCS) and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) have announced USFilter's Zimpro Products and Enviroscan Services of Rothschild, the winner of a 2000 Wisconsin Corporate Safety Award.

The water and wastewater treatment equipment and services provider and analytical laboratory accepted the award at the 59th Annual Wisconsin Safety and Health Congress Expo in Madison.

The Wisconsin Corporate Safety Award Program is designed to honor employers who exemplify safety and health excellence. Distribution of awards is based on the type and size of business; sixteen Wisconsin companies won an award.

Bryan Roessler, WCS safety director, said, "From 105 applicants, there were 75 finalists. Finalists needed to complete subjective reports that were judged by a panel of over 30 judges."

Chad Felch, chairman of the Rothschild company's safety committee, accepted the award on behalf of all employees. He says, "The unique combination of manufacturing, field service and laboratory activities at our facility creates the potential for a wide range of safety hazards each and every day. Every one of our employees has put forth a dedicated and continuous effort to reach and maintain the high level of success in safety that we have achieved."

Gary Stroyny, Zimpro Products and Enviroscan Services general manager, says, "This award embodies the enthusiasm for safety shown by all levels of the organization."

The company has worked six years and five months, more than 2.6 million hours, without a lost-time accident, and is recognized as a leader in safety within USFilter. The group had been finalists for the Wisconsin award four consecutive years.

Zimpro Products designs, builds, and installs wastewater treatment systems for cities and industries worldwide. The Enviroscan Services laboratory provides analytical services to engineering firms, cities, and industries across the state and throughout the upper Midwest.
