Webcast for pharmaceutical laboratories co-hosted by Labtronics, Hanson Research
Two firms to present "Ensuring the Integrity of Your Dissolution Data" with demonstration of Hanson Research's LIMS-Ready Bill dissolution data system, which addresses critical need for integrating dissolution equipment with laboratory systems.
GUELPH, ON, Canada, April 27, 2006 -- Hanson Research and Labtronics Inc. have teamed up to host a free Webcastfor pharmaceutical laboratories to address the critical need for integrating dissolution equipment with laboratory systems to ensure the integrity of dissolution data and provable regulatory compliance. The one-hour Webcastentitled "Ensuring the Integrity of Your Dissolution Data" will take place Thursday, June 15, at 2 p.m. EDT North America. Interested parties can register at: www.labtronics.com/webcasts/webcast-billdds.htm.
The majority of dissolution testing is still handled by manual processes, which puts the integrity of the data at risk. Data is prone to errors caused by inaccurate transcription and standard operating procedures that cannot be precisely controlled using manual methods. When the integrity of the data is compromised, the safety and quality of the end product is compromised, putting consumer health at risk and the viability of pharmaceutical companies at risk from lawsuits and damage to their brands.
Addressing these key challenges, Roy Hanson, Chairman and CEO of Hanson Research, will open the Webcastwith a presentation on the latest trends and technologies for dissolution testing. He will introduce the concept of a centralized dissolution data system (DDS) for running, monitoring and collecting results electronically from dissolution equipment. A live product demonstration of Hanson Research's Bill Dissolution Data System (Bill DDS) will follow.
"This Webcastwill be of particular interest to laboratories in the pharmaceutical industry that are seeking out ways to cost-effectively meet high standards for quality assurance and comply with the FDA's 21 CFR Part 11 rule," said Hanson.
According to Robert Pavlis, President of Labtronics Inc., "This Webcastis a great opportunity for pharmaceutical companies to learn from the experts at Hanson Research about connecting dissolution equipment digitally with the laboratory to ensure data integrity. Hanson Research was the first to introduce the concept of a dissolution data system just two years ago, and continues to lead the market with their expertise and leading technologies for dissolution testing."
Labtronics Inc., industry experts in laboratory systems integration, will conclude the Webcastwith a presentation on how to securely integrate dissolution data systems with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). In an exclusive partnership with Hanson Research, Labtronics has made Bill DDS "LIMS-ready" by providing an embedded bi-directional DDS-to-LIMS integration based on its market-leading LimsLink technology. Key features of the embedded LimsLink integration will be discussed.
"Labtronics are the industry experts for LIMS integration, and the company we chose to build the LIMS interface that is embedded into Bill DDS," said Hanson. "LIMS interfacing is an essential step in the implementation of a dissolution data system to ensure that the data is transferred in real time with 100 per cent accuracy."
Webcastparticipants will have the opportunity to ask questions during a question and answer session at the end of the presentation.
