• Symbion's instrument control software Symbion (DX, RX or LX) can now interface with LimsLink.
GUELPH, ON, Canada, Jan. 18, 2007 -- Labtronics Inc., an industry leader in laboratory data integration and management solutions, yesterday announced the new partnership with Symbion Systems, a leader in providing analytical instrument control and connectivity software. Symbion will distribute LimsLink in conjunction with its' Symbion line of products to provide customers with the many advantages of LIMS integration.
The Symbion family of products has been designed to provide a standard software environment for analytical instrumentation. Symbion is both a language and a set of comprehensive yet easy to use programs covering all aspects of analysis, connectivity, compliance, and control. In their correspondence, Symbion recognized a customer need for a solution, to work in conjunction with the Symbion products, enabling LIMS connectivity for the various spectrometers and other analytical instruments that are compatible with Symbion. Symbion required a robust solution to suit the needs of their wide-range in customers. The solution of choice was LimsLink, the most widely used instrument interfacing tool in the industry.
LimsLink provides flexible capabilities to meet user-specific requirements. With LimsLink, data can be easily collected and reported to LIMS, whether users simply want to acquire data from an instrument/instrument data system or are in need of a more comprehensive system to transfer information back and forth between the LIMS, the interface and the instrument.
Together, through their expertise and robust solutions, Symbion and Labtronics will provide a powerful data management and interfacing solution. The combined solutions will improve laboratory workflow and assure compliance with industry regulations such as 21 CFR Part 11.
Symbion Systems Inc. (www.gosymbion.com) was founded in 2002 to develop and market standardized instrument control and data management software for the analytical instrument and process analysis industries. A major milestone in the Symbion program occurred during 2006 with the signing of a product licensing and joint development agreement with General Electric Fanuc Automation. Under the agreement, GE has acquired the primary marketing rights to the Life Sciences Process markets and the two companies have agreed to share in, and coordinate, all developments related to the Symbion product lines for at least five years. Symbion retains the primary rights to analytical laboratory markets and to process markets other than Life Sciences.
An industry leader and innovator in laboratory data integration and management solutions, Labtronics combines advanced software and unparalleled data integration expertise to help customers derive more value from their laboratory data. With 20 years experience, customers around the World and offices in North America and Europe, Labtronics' solutions help customers improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their laboratories, while reducing their cost for regulatory compliance and increasing the speed with which they can release products from quality testing to the market.
