Water Connections: Remote Flow Monitoring for Smart Networks

Sept. 14, 2019
Flomotion Systems’ new ISOMAG FLOWIZ MV255 battery-operated electromagnetic flow meter with integral cellular communications can help solve these problems.

Remote flow measurement can be a difficult proposition. Providing power and hard-wired communications is often costly and sometimes impossible at many remote monitoring sites. Flomotion Systems’ new ISOMAG FLOWIZ MV255 battery-operated electromagnetic flow meter with integral cellular communications can help solve these problems.

The FLOWIZ MV255 combines state-of-the-art electromagnetic flow measurement with secure data storage and remote communications in a long-lasting, battery-powered system. The MV255 utilizes an integrated alkaline or lithium battery pack designed for rapid replacement on site. The battery life is greater than 10 years (lithium), keeping maintenance costs low. The MV255 with 4 GB data logger (up to 32 GB) and real-time clock compresses and encrypts collected data for fast and secure transfer via the cellular network.

The graphic, back-lit, UV-protected converter can be mounted in a vertical or horizontal orientation for easy viewing in tight spaces. Simultaneous acquisition of two pressures, line or static reservoir pressure (level) or simultaneous acquisition of electrical potential (anti-corrosion) and pressure gives the MV255 unprecedented versatility in system monitoring. Pulse outputs, 4–20 mA and Modbus protocol make interfacing with PLCs and smart monitoring networks a breeze. Self-diagnostic, verification and report printing assures reliable, accurate measurement and system integrity. WW
