PITTSBURGH, PA, Sept. 9, 2009 -- The 24th Activated Carbon Conference and Courses (IACC-24) annual program will be held near Pittsburgh PA on Oct. 3-9, 2009. The program brings together a wide variety of individuals who need to know what activated carbon can do. Short courses are provided before and after the two-day conference. The conference includes oral, poster, and abstract only presentations. Presentations include: 18 oral platform presentations, 21 posters and seven abstracts only. Presentations range from vapor phase mercury control at electric power plants, endocrine disrupter control, new carbon suppliers, new test methods, comparison of different carbons, and much more.

Each IACC event has a Hall-of-Fame award. The award includes life-time admission to all future conferences. This helps to assure the people you need to advance your knowledge base are present for you. This year Bob Roodman will received the award and present a plenary titled "The Activated Carbon Industry: On the Launching Pad -- To Growth or to Turmoil."

Vendors can send marketing without attending to spread information, which is included in the Conference Proceedings. The Conference Proceedings are available to the public after the conference is completed.

In 2010, Professional Analytical and Consulting Services (PACS), of Pittsburgh, will offer carbon conference and courses in Los Angeles in February as well as Pittsburgh in October.
