DENVER, CO, Oct. 1, 2009 -- ARCADIS, an international consulting and engineering company, today announced that Senior Vice President Dennis Kamber, PE, BCEE, has been invited to join Virginia Tech's prestigious Academy of Engineering Excellence, a group that honors Virginia Tech College of Engineering graduates who have made sustained and meritorious engineering and/or leadership contributions. Mr. Kamber earned recognition through his distinguished career and service to the College of Engineering, Virginia Tech, and to the engineering profession in general.

The Academy of Engineering Excellence, created in 1997, has honored only 99 of more than 55,000 living graduates. Formal induction will take place on April 22, 2010, in Blacksburg, VA.

"I am very appreciative of this honor and delighted to be recognized," Mr. Kamber said. "I'd also like to express my appreciation for the support and contributions of my colleagues at ARCADIS over the years."

Mr. Kamber leads ARCADIS's U.S. Global Knowledge Network for Water Management. He has applied his engineering experience in planning, design, and construction on ARCADIS projects involving water supply, water treatment, wastewater collection and treatment, tunnels, and other major civil infrastructure throughout the U.S. Most recently, he has been a served as the senior technical advisor on hurricane risk reduction projects in New Orleans where ARCADIS is providing significant engineering support to the Corps of Engineers. A Registered Professional Engineer in Maryland, New York and Virginia, and a Board Certified Environmental Engineer, Mr. Kamber has received several national and regional awards for engineering accomplishments.
