Advantex r7 to enhance customer service at American Water Co.
MDSI Mobile Data Solutions Inc. will supply its Advantex r7 software, professional services and a suite of third party products to American Water.
Richmond, B.C., Nov. 5, 2003 -- MDSI Mobile Data Solutions Inc. will supply its Advantex r7 software, professional services and a suite of third party products to American Water, a private North American supplier of water services.
Initially, MDSI will work with New Jersey-American, a subsidiary of American Water, in its Northeast Region where 200 mobile workers will be equipped with the technology to maintain the 2,900 miles of pipeline in the regional transmission and distribution system.
With Advantex, American Water will optimally schedule and wirelessly dispatch field work to mobile crews, who will use the solution to manage and record their work, and provide real time status updates from the field.
The result will be highly responsive customer service where everyone works with the most current information to ensure that each job is completed by the right person at the right time. Management will also benefit from Advantex's decision support tools, which help identify areas for improvement in field operations.
