The City's Water and Sewer Department operates and maintains public water and wastewater systems. The water distribution system consists of 211 miles (340 km) of water lines with six water storage tanks, with a capacity of 6.75 million gallons (26 million liters). The collection system is comprised of 9 lift stations, 160 miles (258 km) of sewer mains and 210 miles (338 km) of stormwater lines.

InfoSWMM is a comprehensive, fully dynamic, GIS-centric wastewater and stormwater modeling and management software application that can be used to model the entire land phase of the hydrologic cycle as applied to urban stormwater and wastewater collection systems. The model can perform single event or long-term (continuous) rainfall-runoff simulations accounting for climate, soil, land use, and topographic conditions of the watershed. In addition to simulating runoff quantity, InfoSWMM can also predict runoff quality, including buildup and washoff of pollutants from primarily urban watersheds. Once runoff quantity and quality are simulated and wastewater loads at receiving junctions are determined, the routing portion of InfoSWMM uses either steady routing, kinematic wave routing or dynamic wave routing to transport this flow through a conveyance system of pipes, channels, storage/treatment devices, pumps, and hydraulic regulators such as weirs and orifices. The model also offers very advanced Real-Time Control (RTC) schemes for the operational management of hydraulic structures.
