ATLANTA, GA, Oct. 24, 2005 -- Due to popular requests, Pumping Machinery LLC is adding two Special Pump Training Sessions titled "Bearings, Lubrications and Mechanical Seals."
During the two days of hands-on exercises, the attendees will physically remove and reassembly bearings on the shaft, including tandem, back-to-back, and face-to-face arrangement, and learn the reasons -- explained and understood. They will also reassemble a centrifugal pump and set a mechanical seal at proper position and spring tension. Pros and cons of seals versus packings will be covered as well.
These focused sessions are offered on Jan. 19-20 and May 18-19. Registration is open and class size is limited to ensure each attendee personally goes thru exercises.
Also, the Advanced Pump Class will be conducted on March 9-10, and is designed primarily for engineers and system/reliability plants personnel. Pump/System interaction will be covered in depth, and a live testing of a single pump, as well as pumps operated in parallel will be conducted. Efficiency, energy savings and equipment reliability will be assessed from the overall system perspective. 1.6 CEUs will be credited upon a completion of the test.
