Multi-utility ASM Brescia selects SeeBeyond for e-business integration platform

SeeBeyond today announced that Italian multi-utility ASM Brescia has selected its eBI platform to enable eCRM integration between Siebel 2000 and the utility's back-office applications.

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. & MILAN, Italy, Nov. 20, 2001 — SeeBeyond today announced that Italian multi-utility ASM Brescia has selected its eBI platform to enable eCRM integration between Siebel 2000 and the utility's back-office applications.

ASM Brescia, a multi-utility established in 1908, manages all public utility services for the city of Brescia. With annual revenue of approximately 1,000 billion Lire (approximately $500 million U.S. Dollars), ASM Brescia's primary lines of business include production and distribution of electricity, distribution of methane gas, water, remote heating, street lighting, waste management, public transportation and telecommunications. ASM also serves 70 additional cities with various public services.

Throughout Europe, deregulation and new competition is forcing gas and electricity utilities to re-evaluate their product portfolio strategies as well as the underlying systems for managing both cross-product customers and new forms of risk. eCRM integration, supply chain integration and the merging of these two initiatives, are seen as the most immediate challenges facing this industry today.

ASM Brescia is among the first companies to address these challenges and has set up a channel for customers by deploying a new call center based on software from Siebel Systems. The SeeBeyond platform will be used to integrate Siebel 2000 software with ASM's back-office applications such as billing, customer service and support. SeeBeyond will also provide the eBI platform enabling connectivity between ASM and its customers.
