Blackline Safety has introduced the G8 connected safety wearable, a multifunctional device designed to combine gas detection, lone worker protection and real-time communication in a single intrinsically safe platform. Built for demanding industrial environments, G8 carries an IP67 rating and streams live data to the cloud, providing continuous visibility into worker status, gas exposure and site conditions for safety and operations teams.

The device integrates advanced gas detection using swappable sensor cartridges, location tracking with dual-band GNSS and monitoring for falls, no motion events and other worker safety incidents. G8 also supports two-way voice communication and messaging, allowing workers to stay connected with safety teams and monitoring personnel during routine operations or emergencies. A high-visibility color display, onboard flashlight and simplified device assignment support usability in low-light and confined spaces.

Data from G8 is transmitted to Blackline’s cloud-based monitoring platform to support real-time response, incident management and operational insights. Designed as a scalable platform, the system supports automatic firmware updates and future integration with digital worksite tools, helping organizations adapt to evolving safety and productivity requirements across industrial and municipal applications.
