WQA Aquatech USA, the largest water treatment show in North America, is expected to keep breaking records with its 2007 event. Co-organized by the Water Quality Association (WQA) and Amsterdam RAI, WQA Aquatech USA 2007 will take place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., with the conference running from March 27 to 31 and the exhibition open from March 28 to 30.

Last year’s event in Chicago surpassed expectations with 4,467 attendees and 599 booths, and the WQA expects this year’s event to be even larger. At press time, 87% of the exhibition was sold, according to the association.

Partnerships

In addition to its partnership with Amsterdam RAI, the major show producer known for its Aquatech Amsterdam show, WQA works with many other organizations to provide specialized information for attendees. For example, the Association of Water Technologies and the International Ozone Association will co-locate their conferences with WQA Aquatech USA 2007. A new addition this year will be the American Filtration & Separations Society (AFS), which will co-locate its 20th Anniversary Conference at WQA Aquatech USA 2007. AFS’ membership includes engineers, scientists and technologists in all areas of the fluid/particle separation field. The society’s Filtration Pavilion will include up to 34 exhibitors from the filtration and separations industry. In addition, AFS will present short technical programs for exhibition attendees.

Other educational contributors to WQA Aquatech USA will include the International Bottled Water Association, International Ultraviolet Association and International Water Conference, according to the WQA.

Highlights

“WQA Primetime,” a lineup of events on Wednesday, March 28, will bring attendees up to speed on the most important issues concerning the water treatment industry. The Industry Issues Report, from 8:30 to 9:45 am, will cover the World Health Organization’s report on calcium and magnesium, the dialogue between WQA and onsite wastewater treatment groups regarding backwash regeneration discharges to septic tanks, and changes to NSF/ANSI Standard 53 that could potentially take away lead removal claims from flow-through or gravity-feed pitcher filters. The State of the Industry, from 10 to 11 am, will cover and analyze trends influencing the water industry, as well as discuss many untapped markets. Finally, the Opening General Session, from 11 am to 12:30 pm, will provide a wrap-up of WQA’s progress in 2006 and an outlook for 2007.

Another notable highlight is the Saturday Hands-On Product Training on March 31. At the session, exhibitors will educate and train attendees with their key products and services. Attendees will be able to ask questions and get immediate feedback in a classroom setting. The training, which is ideal for owners, installers, service technicians, sales representatives and application specialists, will cover everything from using a balance sheet for profit improvement to developing management skills and creating advertising strategies for small budgets, according to the WQA.

With its many educational and networking opportunities, WQA Aquatech USA 2007 promises to deliver the unique and positive experience the water treatment industry has come to expect.
