In our third annual Faces of the Industry special issue, we are continuing the tradition of highlighting the people and businesses who keep the water treatment industry running. From decades-old family businesses to young professionals new to the industry and all the icons in between, this issue spotlights them all. The input we get from our readers and editors for this issue is invaluable.

In the spirit of community, we asked our readers to nominate themselves or their peers to be considered as our 2019 Industry Icon. From the pool of accomplished nominees, the WQP editorial team chose Francis Boodoo, director of applied technologies for Purolite Corp., as this year’s winner. Boodoo’s technical background stood out to all of us.

Later, in my interview with him, he spoke with such passion about his job, I knew we had made the right choice. His dedication to the industry and commitment to learning has helped him succeed and he uses his experience to inspire those he works with to be their best.

Because we had so many great nominations, we included a few runners up after Boodoo’s profile, so be sure to check those out.

In addition to our tenured professionals, we also asked you to nominate young people who show promise in their careers. This class of Young Professionals includes students, business owners, and those excelling at their current jobs. They’re doing great work and we look forward to seeing where their careers go next.

Finally, we’ve tracked down another set of dealerships that span the generations. In this family-oriented industry, these dealerships with three or more generations of ownership are never hard to find, and our editors enjoy telling their stories.

Next year is WQP’s 25th anniversary, and we’re getting the ball rolling early. Head to www.wqpmag.com/nominations to get your nominations in for the 2020 Young Professionals and Industry Icon.
