The deadline to submit an abstract for the eighth biennial Emerging Water Technology Symposium (EWTS) has been extended to Nov. 15, according to a press release from the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO).
Scheduled for May 14-15, 2024, at the Scottsdale Plaza and Villas in Scottsdale, Arizona, the EWTS will be co-convened by the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE), IAPMO, and Plumbing Manufacturers International (PMI), in cooperation with the World Plumbing Council (WPC).
A Call for Abstracts for this event is available for download at: https://ewts.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/EWTS24_Call_for_Abstracts.pdf.
The three associations that are co-convening the event have worked together closely over the past few years to grow the symposium for those who work or are interested in the fields of safe plumbing, water distribution, and water efficiency. The theme for the 2024 event will be “The Nexus Between Safety and Sustainability” and will focus on avoiding the unintended consequences of striving for both.
“The EWTS Technical Committee is working diligently on putting together the program for the 2024 event in Scottsdale,” said Tony Marcello, senior vice president of Training and Credential Services for The IAPMO Group. ”In an effort to provide the best possible program, the committee wants to provide one final opportunity for interested parties to submit an abstract for consideration, especially abstracts that match the EWTS theme. I am also excited to tease that we will be announcing the keynote speakers very shortly, with keynote presentations that discuss issues related to both water safety and sustainability.”
