The International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Foundation (IWSH) announced that the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC) Educational Foundation has become a platinum level sponsor of IWSH.
The PHCC Educational Foundation provides educational programming to enhance the growth and success of the plumbing and HVACR industry workforce. The donation will help advance initiatives throughout the United States.
“PHCC Educational Foundation is pleased to support IWSH’s work to improve access to water and sanitation services for underserved communities,” said Kevin Tindall, chair of the PHCC Educational Foundation. “IWSH offers solutions that not only address immediate needs for residents, but also educates decision makers about the importance of qualified and skilled labor.”
In the years to come, IWSH plans to continue to expand its services, including improving water quality and efficiency through plumbing upgrades and repairs, demonstrating decentralized wastewater solutions, utilizing apprenticeship competitions for social impact projects, and applying new approaches to safe water access through rainwater and graywater systems.
“The plumbing industry needs more qualified professionals to assist the more than two million Americans who lack access to clean drinking water at home and more than one million who don’t have adequate plumbing,” said Dan Quinonez, PHCC Educational Foundation executive director. “IWSH coordinates all aspects of our industry to provide solutions that can be scaled to meet the needs of these communities.”
