Greenville Water, the largest utility in South Carolina, adopted an innovative, technology-forward approach to significantly reduce Non-Revenue Water (NRW). Facing a high leak rate, they partnered with VODA.ai to prioritize leak detection efforts.

The utility used VODA.ai’s machine learning to create a powerful strategy:

The initial pilot showed VODA.ai predicted 94% of main breaks in the top 20% of pipes.

The team overlaid VODA.ai's Likelihood of Failure (LOF) data with satellite leak detection scans to efficiently prioritize over 600 potential leak areas.

This combined approach helped their field crews quickly pinpoint non-surfacing leaks, leading to an estimated annual saving of 71 million gallons of water.

This strategy maximizes limited resources and demonstrates how AI can enhance traditional leak detection efforts.
