Dec. 3, 2010 -- Due to popular demand the sold out Urban Water Sustainability Leadership Conference will be made available via live-streaming on December 6 & 7. The presentations will be broken down into six 2-hour modules and can be purchased individually for $35 each, or get all six for only $95!

Title: Spotlight on Philadelphia
Session begins with an opening keynote address by Michael Nutter, Mayor of Philadelphia. Then, Philadelphia leaders will offer insights into how they are dovetailing planning efforts, and investments and how the contexts of the city provide challenges and opportunities for applying best practices. This session will begin with a discussion of IWA's Cities of the Future program, an initiative that demonstrates how cities around the world are designing innovative approaches to sustainability. This session will begin with a keynote presentation by Vivian Chang, Director of State & Local Initiatives with Green for All, an organization working to build an inclusive green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty. Title: Spotlight on Chicago
This session will begin with a look at how Chicago has moved from thinking green towards a more systemic and strategic implementation of "green" where projects, management and leadership are merging to change policies, ordinances and culture. Then, a panel comprising all the team leaders from the conference will tackle the question: What have we learned? Register now >

Live streaming will be an opportunity to join the Clean Water America Alliance and guests, by internet, at the University of Pennsylvania, at Philadelphia, as they spotlight urban leaders in water sustainability. Agency leaders, their staff and affiliated experts will share innovations, strategies, and best practices, for making green infrastructure the centerpiece of the urban water world. Leaders from the fields of philanthropy, water, sustainability, infrastructure, planning, politics, and science will identify the policy and system changes needed for substantive progress toward water sustainability.

The conference is supported in part by a grant from the William Penn Foundation. It is sponsored by CDM, the Philadelphia Water Department, and Greeley and Hansen. Partners include the Penn Institute for Urban Research, and the Wharton School's Initiative for Global Environmental Leadership.
